Itinerary:
In this package we have a fine mix of the cultures of which made Egypt great. Most people learn in school about the ancient Egyptians, and are familiar with the Pyramids and Great Defending Sphinx. However, they may have heard less about the rich history that was Nubia. With this package your can experience both. Nubians are the people of northern Sudan and southern Egypt. With a history and traditions which can be traced to the dawn of civilization, the Nubian first settled along the banks of the Nile from Aswan. Along this great river they developed one of the oldest and greatest civilizations in Africa. Until they lost their last kingdom (Christian Nubia) only five centuries back the Nubians remained as the main rivals to the other great African civilization of Egypt. Several important Nubian and Ancient Egyptian archaeological sites were dismantled block by block and moved to higher ground, most notably Abu Simbel. The prior Sudanese river-port and railway terminal of Wadi Halfa was lost beneath the waters, and a new town was built nearby; and Egypt's entire Nubian community from the upper reaches of the Nile numbering several hundred thousand people saw their villages disappear and were forced to relocate.
